Nearhold is operated by Easy Beach LLC, the company behind nearhold.com. We run on radical transparency, so this page says exactly what we collect and why. No boilerplate, no buried surprises.

What we collect and why

  • ZIP code. Checked against our coverage data right in your browser. Stored in our database only if you join the waitlist.
  • Email address. To send your coverage report, founding-member updates, and, when the service is live for you, your alerts.
  • The address you choose to monitor(subscribers only). When you set up monitoring, we collect the address you designate, typically a parent's home. It's used solely to match dispatch activity to your alerts, it's never sold or shared for marketing, and deleting your account deletes it. Until you subscribe, we collect ZIP code only.
  • Payment details (subscriptions and subscriptions) are handled by Stripe. Card numbers never touch our servers; we store only Stripe's reference IDs and your payment status.
  • Email engagement. Our email provider records whether our emails were delivered, opened, or clicked, so we can tell what's working and stop mailing addresses that bounce. Opens are approximate by nature.
  • Your answer to the pricing question (optional). If you tell us what monthly price feels fair, we store that answer as text. It's how we set the founding rate.
  • Campaign link (UTM parameters). The five standard fields (source, medium, campaign, term, content) if they're in the URL that brought you here. Used for attribution only.
  • Basic usage analytics. Pages visited, buttons clicked. Collected via PostHog; see below.

What we deliberately don't collect

  • Anything about your parent before you subscribe. The waitlist and coverage checker collect ZIP only. A street address enters our systems only when you set up monitoring, and only the one you designate.
  • Health or medical information. Never. Nearhold listens to public dispatch radio; it does not monitor people.
  • Card numbers. Those live with Stripe, not us.

We never sell personal information. Full stop.

Cookies and similar tech

PostHog uses cookies and localStorage to understand how the site is used: page views, button clicks, drop-off points. No profile is sold. You can block it at the browser level.

The Meta (Facebook) Pixelmeasures how our ads perform, including “Advanced Matching,” which shares a hashed (scrambled, one-way) version of your email with Meta when you submit the waitlist form. You can review or change how Meta uses that data at facebook.com/adpreferences. Browser-level controls (ad blockers, privacy extensions) also limit this.

Where your data lives

We use these processors, each operating under their own security terms:

  • Supabase: database
  • Vercel: hosting
  • PostHog: analytics
  • Stripe: payments
  • Resend: email delivery
  • Meta: advertising measurement

Your choices

Unsubscribe anytime; every email has a link. To request access to or deletion of your data, email privacy@nearhold.com and we'll act within 30 days. Regional privacy laws, including California's, may give you additional rights. Email us and we'll honor them.

Not for children

Nearhold is not directed to anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page and the effective date above when anything changes. Material changes to what we collect get announced to the waitlist first, before they take effect.

Dispatch radio is public. Your inbox isn't. We treat it that way. Our Terms of Service cover the rest of the deal.
